Her Story

Alana Eve Murri, passed away on Friday, April 3rd, 2020 at the age of 16 at Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora.
Alana was born Davelyn Shirley Ann U'ihukulani Torres on April 22, 2003 in Honolulu, HI and was adopted by her parents, Ryan Murri and Karri Minks, on May 12, 2005. Alana was a beautiful and sweet child who was very strongly connected to her Hawaiian roots. She loved to play the ukulele, swim in the ocean, and eat Spam and kalua pork. She always dreamed of returning to her island home.
Alana was a skater girl and spent many hours with her friends at the skate park learning new tricks. She was adventurous and fearless and never gave up when she wanted to learn something. She loved art and she made beautiful drawings and paintings for her family and friends. She enjoyed listening to music, reading, taking selfies, making videos and being outside. She was an enigmatic and interesting young woman who appreciated the world around her.
Alana is survived by her parents, Ryan Murri and Karri Minks, step-parents, Deanna Murri and Ares Minks, step-siblings, Ani, Aina, Aleck, and Abram, and grandparents Kent Murri, Joaquin Villanueva, and Pura Fitzgerald. A memorial service will be planned for summer in Hawaii, which will be her final resting place.

Lani was always the sweetest most uplifting person, I loved her smile and her sweet voice, as well as the cute comments she would leave me, I always believed in her as well as she did me with her big heart. And her love will go on

Alana always made me laugh she always happy and so loving and kind. I am so sad that we will not have her staying with us. She was a fish in the water and always trying to dunk me,, She will surely will be missed by all. I know the she is with her grandmother Ginni having fun times together. This picture was taken on the last day of 8th grade. I posted something on my snapchat story along the lines of "hit me up if you want to take a picture with me on the last day of school" and she was one of the few people who texted me she wanted to. I searched ALL day to find her. When we finally saw each other, we had no clue how to pose for our picture so we ended up just doing this...❤️

lani she was my best friend when i was in middle school she was so nice to me when no one else was she was the sister i never had i love her so much thanks for always making me smile and checking on me and always taking super cute selfies on my snap chat i love you and will miss you so much ❤️

Alana and I went to many concerts together and we always had so much fun! She was the one to take me to my first ever concert! She always made sure that I was able to see since I am short! She was always so caring and considerate <3

i didn’t know alana that well, but i do remember one time when i was upset in school and she asked me if i was doin okay, from what i’ve heard she was really sweet and from the pictures i have seen of her, she’s absolutely gorgeous. she seems like such a sweet person. i don’t have any pictures with her, but the family is in my prayers :/

While attending DCC I didn’t have very many friends. I met Alana and immediately fell in love with her. We grew very close and became best friends. After we switched schools we still kept in contact and spent as much time together as we could. Alana was one of the sweetest people I knew, her smile brightened every room she entered.
